SAR - Search and Rescue

Malta’s Presidency priority has been to promote the issue of inter-operability in the field of search and rescue in the Western Mediterranean.

This can be achieved by organizing a specialist seminar on the subject matter for the national organizations involved in the provision of SAR Services within the 5+5DI countries.

The intentions are to:

 - Working towards establishing a contact list of appropriate agencies responsible for the provision of search and rescue services amongst the member states;

 - Working towards establishing a database of assets and capabilities that each state has at its disposal for search and rescue missions across the Mediterranean Sea;

 - Concluding a SAR MOU between the member states of the 5+5 area.
