Exercise Sea Border, 2nd to 6th October 2017


This operational training allowed the northern and southern marines of the accidental Mediterranean to train together to handle the influx of the climate refugees on the shores of one of these countries.

Means and representatives from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Malta, Mauritania, and Tunisia and from Algeria participated in this scenario under the dual command of Morocco and France. «One of these training challenges is to optimize procedures to shipwreck rescue in the sea taking into account by such situation to be exploited by a terrorist organization», explain the Commander Christine, chief of the operational center of Sea Border.

During all the part of the sea, the tactical situation and cross checking the collected information were been coordinated and provided from the Maritime Operations Center in Toulon by an allied operational center allowing at a time to coordinate the actions to face a threat .the presence of officers from the country members of 5+5 allowed to mechanize and to standardize working procedures and to reinforce the interoperability of available means.
